Here at RVi, we all have our "bucket list" of dream destinations and places that our RVs will take us. It just so happens that some of the most exciting RV destinations are in California.
With that in mind, we put together a list of our favorite California RV road trip destinations.
1. Big Sur
One of the most spectacular sights in California is Big Sur. This rugged stretch of California’s central coast is accessed via State Route 1. You’ll have the chance to see one of California’s most photographed locations, the Bixby Creek Bridge. This iconic piece of architecture began construction in 1931 and still carries thousands of eager travelers across Bixby Creek, en route to all the incredible sights up and down Route 1.
With an array of RV resorts in the surrounding areas, this is a perfect day trip or quick sightseeing activity.
2. Redwood National Forest
Our next stop is one most of us know and love, Redwood National Forest and State Parks. This string of protected forests offers not only tremendous sightings of some of the world's largest trees, but also 40-miles of coastline and vast California wilderness to explore.
Did we mention that Redwood and the surrounding areas are very RV friendly? You shouldn’t have any trouble finding a good spot to park your rig and enjoy the great outdoors.
3. Yosemite National Park
Nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains, Yosemite National Park is one of the most iconic locations in the country. It’s host to towering, ancient sequoia trees and some of the most stunning sights like Half Dome and El Capitan.
You’ll find shops, restaurants, and other attractions in Yosemite Village. You likely won’t find yourself short of things to keep you busy. Plus, you’ll have no trouble finding lodging and fantastic spots to park the RV. Yosemite is on thousands of bucket lists around the world, and it’s no surprise why!
4. Lake Tahoe
This freshwater lake straddling the border of Nevada and California is a destination enjoyed by many for both its summer and winter attractions. From ski resorts to crystal clear summer waters, Lake Tahoe has something for every adventurer. If the outdoor activities enjoyed in Tahoe’s almost 300 days of sunshine per year don’t suit your fancy, they have plenty of indoor activities like casinos and historical attractions in the surrounding areas.
Lake Tahoe is truly a sight to behold and will undoubtedly make for an exciting and/or relaxing RV adventure!
5. Death Valley National Park
With its ominous name and mysterious phenomena, Death Valley is a fascinating attraction that also borders Nevada. Plus, being less than 150 miles from Las Vegas means you could hop over for some fun on the strip.
Make your way to the right spots and you may get the chance to see some of Death Valley’s mysterious sailing stones, these large rocks have visibly moved across the desert floor, leaving a trail behind them!
With plenty of RV resorts scattered throughout the Park, you’ll have no trouble planning your stay in this below-sea-level basin.
6. Channel Islands National Park
The last destination on our list is an interesting one - Channel Island National Park. The Park itself is not accessible via RV, in fact, you'll have to take a boat to this string of stunning islands. If you're feeling particularly adventuress, it'll be worth every second.
You'll enjoy lighthouses, sea caves, thousands of seals and some of the most stunning sights out there. As far as the RV goes, you'll find several RV resorts in Oxnard (where your boat sets sail).
We all love RVing for that feeling of adventure and excitement being on the open road. If you'd like to explore the many gems of California, this list is a good start. We hope you get the chance to add them to your itinerary!

There are different kind of trees in the world trees like deciduous trees, coniferous trees, arborvitae, banyan trees, black Ash, white Ash, and many others. I thing the tallest tree in the world is Hyperion which is over 300 feet tall (91 meters) . The tallest tree in the world is located in California it has been standing over 700/800 years old. Hyperion is also known as coast redwood. while the smallest tree in the world is dwarf willow it dose not grow more then 1-6 cm it is mainly located in North Atlantic Ocean it is one of the smallest of woody plants.
