1. Jeep Wrangler
We'll put our "winner" right here at the top of the list, the Jeep Wrangler has been a favorite of RVers for decades, and for good reason! Not only are they iconic, they're extraordinarily functional, rugged, and an absolute breeze to set up for flat towing. No annoying gadgets getting in the way of you hitting the road, Jeeps (especially Wranglers) are about as simple as you're going to get.
2020 MSRP: from $28,295
2. Jeep Gladiator
Alright, alright, it's just a Wrangler with a bed... But we told you how much we love Jeep products for Flat Towing! Spoiler alert, this isn't the last Jeep on our list! Just like it's older brother, the Gladiator is a down-to-earth, rugged 4X4 that can really take a beating. Plus, the fold-down rear seats and truck bed create some really practical extra storage space!
2020 MSRP: from $33,545
3. Ford Edge ST (2019 or newer)
With its new facelift and redesign, the Ford Edge ST is a real looker on the road. Sporty, fun, and modern is what you get with this new lineup. Plus, they've been approved by Ford to flat tow! A slightly pricier option, but if you want something less rugged (like the two Jeeps before) and more sporty, the Edge ST is a fantastic choice.
2020 MSRP: from $43,265

4. Jeep Grand Cherokee
As promised, we have another Jeep! With a heavy dose of rugged jeep design, you get a more luxurious interior and sportier ride with the Grand Cherokee. Boasting technologies that its Wrangler/Gladiator counterparts can't match, you won't be short of gadgets and features to brag about around the campfire!
2020 MSRP: from $32,150
5. Ford F-150
We're not going to weigh in on the Ford vs. Chevy debate, but we will say that when you think of words like "reliable, tried and true," or even "indestructible," the Ford F-150 likely comes to mind. With Ford's modern trucks featuring high-quality interiors and all the same durability of their trucks of old - you won't be left wanting more. The F-150 is simply a winning formula! (unless of course your heart beats for Chevy)
2020 MSRP: from $28,745
6. Chevy Equinox
Speaking of Chevy, the Equinox is a vehicle rising in popularity - especially in the world of dinghy towing. This is no surprise when you consider its relatively low price tag, simple technology, and good gas mileage. The equinox may not be the exciting option on this list, but it's going to get the job done!
2020 MSRP: from $23,800
P.S. If you're flat towing, you need a braking system

Towing 2020 Buick Envision with RVI Brake, TBD+ and wireless breakaway. Did have to get a dual fuse harness with switch to disconnect two fuses per the auto manual. Very pleased with the performance, car tows easily.
We also found that the 2019 Chevy Traverse is flat wheel towable which is what we are using with our RVIBrake3, battery tender and wireless breakaway systems. The Traverse give us three row seating plus storage behind the third row seating which is what we were looking for when we upgraded from our 2010 Honda Fit manual transmission car.
